Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate infrastructure powering our cloud platform for high availability, performance, and developer efficiency.
- Push the boundaries on how we scale to millions of users
- Drive observability, monitoring, and alerting, and reduce operational toil through automation and smart tooling.
- Improve the security and observability posture
- Contribute to on-call rotation, helping keep our systems healthy and performant.
- Own and evolve KTLO (keep-the-lights-on) work: tackle reliability, performance bottlenecks, and critical bug fixes.
- Collaborate closely with Cloud team engineers, and sync with product engineers and PMs from other teams to support cross-functional projects; working with other engineering teams, Support, Customer Success, Sales.
- Play a key role in strategic technical decisions, including architecture, tooling, and platform evolution.
Requirements
- Solid Infrastructure/Cloud/DevOps experience: Solid infrastructure /Cloud / DevOps engineering experience and scaling a complex platform to many users
- Application development with Node.js
- CI/CD pipelines: Strong grasp of CI/CD pipelines and build processes
- Observability & performance: Experience with observability, monitoring, and performance tuning
- Proficiency with: Kubernetes
- Proficiency with: Terraform
- Proficiency with: One or more major cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Proficiency with: TypeScript or JavaScript
- Growth mindset: Growth mindset, “don’t know but will find out”
Nice to Have
- Leadership: The ability to functions as a tech lead for the team, with a positive hands-on servant-leadership style is considered a bonus.
- Architecture: Familiarity with distributed systems, security, and cloud-native architecture
- Environment: You’ve worked in a scrappy startup, small high-trust teams, or have entrepreneurial experience
- Cloud: Azure experience
