Responsibilities
- Designs and programs control systems of moderate to high complexity based on approved engineering documentation to fulfill functional needs.
- Serves as a technical authority for automation platforms and process control infrastructure.
- Offers expert guidance on process control strategies to support continuous manufacturing operations and optimization initiatives.
- Conducts programming and configuration tasks while ensuring alignment with established standards and functional specifications.
- Leads the planning and execution of operational technology (OT) system lifecycle activities, including validation and documentation such as functional and design requirements.
- Assesses and deploys innovative tools for OT system administration, including OS updates, antivirus management, user access control, and data backup procedures.
- Applies project management principles to oversee small to medium-sized automation initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to priorities; supports capital projects as needed.
- Collaborates with supply chain and operations teams to schedule and execute system maintenance and changes during non-peak hours, which may involve off-hours work; adheres to environment, health, and safety (EHS) standards throughout design and implementation.
- Delivers training programs to engineers and users on emerging automation technologies and control system applications.
- Identifies and resolves hardware, software, and network issues in OT systems; executes upgrades and data migrations for DCS, PLC, SCADA, and Data Historian platforms while following EHS protocols and reporting requirements.
