About the Role

Amgen is looking for a Sr Associate Data Management to drive the Data Operations of our platform for a Therapeutic Area. At Amgen, we harness the best of biology and technology to fight the world’s toughest diseases. In this role, you will be the subject matter expert and point of contact for all brand stakeholders, managing request intake, triage, routing, and execution of platform enhancements.

What You'll Do

  • Execute Data-Enabling Features in Product Teams, partnering with domain-specific Product Teams for a Therapeutic Area.
  • Serve as Data Platform liaison for a Therapeutic Area or set of brands for stakeholders across the US Commercial Organization.
  • Partner with Product teams in execution of various stages of SDLC following Agile SaFE methodology.
  • Partner with peers in US Data Platform and technology teams to review requests, design solutions, estimate effort, and prioritize requests.
  • Ensure adherence to established Governance principles of the Data Platform in all stages of the SDLC.
  • Communicate with stakeholders through various stages of the SDLC to ensure alignment.
  • Work with syndicated data sets (IQVIA), Digital Marketing data sets, and internal data sets to set up HCP & Patient centric connected data sets.
  • Responsible for the Operations of the Platform for assigned TA/Brands, ensuring data sets are refreshed per SLA.
  • Manage the Big Data platform infrastructure (AWS, Airflow, Databricks) including access, costs, ad hoc capabilities, and data quality.
  • Partner in evaluation and implementation of tools and technologies for future state capabilities including Gen AI.
  • Partner with Technology teams to implement processes to monitor system health and proactively remediate issues.
  • Partner with peers across Master Data Management, Data Platforms, Patient Data Management, Data Acquisition & Governance pillars.
  • Identify and highlight roadblocks, process gaps, and resourcing needs to Leadership.
  • Manage Work Transition and Insourcing, building knowledge documents and setting up processes for efficient global operations.
  • Create documentation on Data flows and business process flows for seamless transition.
  • Develop standard processes and documents for onboarding new team members.
  • Execute Operations of the Platform for assigned Brands and domains.
  • Facilitate Cross-Team and Organizational Engagement and Alignment with peers in Commercial Data Strategy and Data Management Leads.
  • Work with Technology/IT partners and US team members in Product Team setting.
  • Act as a liaison between the Amgen India Innovation Center and other Customer Data & Analytics Teams.

What We're Looking For

  • Master’s degree and 2 to 4 years of data management experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 6 years of relevant data management experience.
  • Proven experience working in global teams across time zones and cultures.
  • Proven experience working in Product teams and delivering high quality solutions adhering to established processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication.
  • Prior experience in high-performing data management teams demonstrating collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Prior experience supporting Data Platforms Operations including executing in Agile Product teams and partnering in phased execution of enhancements.
  • Prior experience in data architecture, data flow design, data modelling, and data profiling.
  • Prior hands-on experience and expertise in technologies such as AWS and Databricks with ability to dig into code for Root cause analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with data analysis using tools and technologies like SQL, Python, R, etc.
  • Quick learning agility to understand new concepts such as end-to-end Commercial data flows.
  • Inclination to continue learning and adopt new concepts and technologies and propose innovation ideas.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in the life sciences commercial data domain space, ideally in Data Platforms and Patient Data.
  • Understanding of syndicated commercial data sets and use cases.
  • Worked in multinational settings with teams from different countries.
  • Basic understanding of compliance and data privacy requirements.
