Earthjustice is hiring a Spring 2027 Public Affairs & Communications Internship

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating and executing communications campaigns.
  • Write materials such as press releases, media advisories, pitches to reporters, op-eds, and other content.
  • Monitor news coverage on climate and energy topics, and generate reports on narrative trends, potential risks, and opportunities.
  • Actively share updates and briefings on message testing, polling, research, and related areas.
  • Work with the communications team and partner with coalitions and legal experts.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior in a college or university program during spring 2027.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the values of justice, excellence, inclusion, and partnership.
  • Must be available to work 15 to 18 hours per week.

Compensation

Paid position; hourly rate for undergraduate students is $19.61 for spring 2027.

Work Arrangement

Remote work within the United States is allowed.

Team

Collaborates across the communications department and with coalitions and legal experts.

  • The successful candidate may work remotely within the U.S.
  • Interns at Earthjustice receive an hourly rate that is considered taxable income.
  • The spring 2027 hourly rate for undergraduate students is $19.61.
