iHeartMedia is looking for a Sports Anchor to create, produce, and announce a dynamic mix of content for our radio audience. You will specialize in delivering sport scores, statistics, and upcoming game information, while also covering music, news, weather, traffic, and other topics of local and national interest.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver newscasts, announce the radio playlist, and provide weather and traffic conditions.
  • Report sport scores, statistics, and upcoming game information.
  • Comment on music and matters of interest and conduct interviews with personalities and listeners.
  • Write, review, and edit news copy, introductions, public service announcements, commercials, and pre-recorded reports.
  • Participate in promotional events.
  • May operate the control board for studios and remote programming.
  • May directly sell advertising space to advertisers.
  • Regulate program timing, operate syndicated programming, and play commercials.
  • Monitor the technical quality and accuracy of incoming and outgoing on-air programming.
  • Protect the station’s license by censoring live programs.
  • Process time-out programming for accurate playback.
  • Check studio equipment for proper function and notify Engineering of technical issues.
  • Handle emergency inserts such as news updates, breaking stories, and alert system tests.

What We're Looking For

  • Socially informed, perceptive, and in tune with local and national trends.
  • Pleasant, charismatic, and well-controlled voice with excellent pronunciation.
  • Well-rounded communication skills for conducting effective interviews.
  • Ability to make others feel comfortable and open up on air.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with proficiency in grammar.
  • Proficient in media production and broadcast systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and social networking.
  • 1-2 years’ experience as an announcer in a smaller market or college station.
  • 4-year college degree, preferably in Communications or Broadcast Journalism.
