Responsibilities
- Ensure consistent deployment, setup, and upkeep of Splunk forwarders on diverse UNIX and Windows environments
- Implement hot fixes and manage system upgrades
- Execute and schedule new data collection jobs
- Track and analyze Splunk license consumption
- Examine emerging data usage trends
- Set up and manage new data inputs and sources
- Produce reports on system usage and operational health
- Verify status and performance of indexers and forwarders
- Evaluate, revise, and test backup protocols
- Diagnose and resolve issues with Splunk servers and forwarders
- Monitor server resource utilization including CPU, memory, and disk space
- Develop core automation scripts for routine maintenance and alerting
- Support internal teams in building reliable, production-grade dashboards
- Guide and train Splunk administrators and end users
- Work autonomously while adhering to project timelines and plans
- Demonstrate experience in automating system workflows and procedures
- Communicate clearly and effectively in writing and speech
