About the Role
This role involves providing direct support in speech and language therapy sessions while working under the guidance of licensed speech-language pathologists. The candidate will assist in implementing treatment plans, engaging with patients and families, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed therapists during speech and language intervention sessions
- Support implementation of individualized therapy plans for clients
- Communicate effectively with clients and families in both English and Spanish
- Maintain session notes and progress tracking documentation
- Prepare materials and resources for therapy activities
- Engage students or patients in structured communication exercises
- Follow clinical protocols under supervising therapist direction
- Participate in team meetings and case reviews
- Adapt communication approaches for diverse cultural backgrounds
- Assist with assessment preparation and data collection
- Monitor client progress and report observations to supervising clinician
- Uphold patient confidentiality and ethical standards
- Use teletherapy platforms for remote service delivery
- Troubleshoot technical issues during virtual sessions
- Support family education and home practice recommendations
- Collaborate with educational staff when serving school-based clients
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and organizational policies
- Attend professional development and training sessions
- Ensure timely submission of required documentation
