Responsibilities
- Oversee independent testing of IT general controls in key areas such as access, change management, and system operations.
- Assess how well IT controls are designed and functioning within systems tied to blockchain, digital assets, and crypto trading.
- Record testing methods and outcomes to meet quality standards set by Internal Audit and external auditors.
- Detect new systems, apps, or process updates during audits and evaluate their impact on SOX compliance in coordination with compliance teams.
- Develop and maintain standardized testing programs, templates, and documentation to support consistent and scalable SOX evaluations.
- Explore uses of AI-driven tools and data analytics to enhance coverage and efficiency in IT control testing.
- Independently verify that unresolved SOX issues, including major weaknesses, have been properly addressed in IT control areas.
- Analyze root causes of control failures and judge the seriousness and spread of exceptions to classify deficiencies accurately.
- Review whether management's corrective actions are properly structured and functioning before closing out audit findings.
- Monitor progress on corrective measures, flag delays or shortcomings, and report status to Internal Audit leaders and the Audit Committee as needed.
- Work closely with SOX Compliance to align on expectations, timelines, and required evidence for remediation efforts.
- Act as the primary Internal Audit contact for IT control owners in Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and IT Operations.
- Translate between audit practices and engineering teams, effectively communicating across technical and non-technical domains.
- Support the preparation of Internal Audit reports to the Audit Committee, external auditors, and executive leadership on IT SOX testing results and follow-ups.
- Collaborate with business process SOX testers and co-sourced teams to ensure comprehensive and coordinated testing across the entire SOX program.
