Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales teams to conduct in-depth technical discovery and fully understand prospects' cloud data environments, cost challenges, and business goals.
- Lead technical validation and Proof of Value initiatives, including planning, execution, and follow-up to ensure successful outcomes aligned with client needs.
- Design and deliver customized platform demonstrations that highlight key features and address specific customer use cases and concerns.
- Develop detailed business cases and return-on-investment analyses using analytical skills and platform knowledge to quantify cost savings and performance gains.
- Serve as the primary technical expert for the solution, ensuring customers achieve optimal results during implementation and evaluation phases.
- Take full responsibility for the technical success of customer engagements, guiding prospects through evaluations and building confidence in the product.
- Present at company and industry events to demonstrate platform capabilities and showcase expertise in cloud data platform optimization.
- Gather customer feedback on technical pain points and feature gaps, then deliver structured input to product development teams and influence roadmap planning.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in internal systems, contributing to performance tracking and business intelligence reporting.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years in a solutions engineering role within a B2B SaaS environment, with significant experience engaging Snowflake, Databricks, and BigQuery users around cloud data platform or cost management challenges.
- Proven, in-depth knowledge of Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery platforms and their optimization best practices.
- Hands-on experience with SaaS tools related to cloud data platform observability, optimization, FinOps, or data integration.
- Strong data analysis capabilities with the ability to detect trends, anomalies, and correlations, and convert findings into actionable recommendations.
- Demonstrated success in using product data to build persuasive business cases and ROI models that highlight cost savings and performance improvements.
- Ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts and solution features to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills in verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal formats, with confidence discussing advanced cloud optimization topics.
- High intellectual curiosity, strong problem-solving aptitude, and a commitment to continuous learning in evolving cloud data ecosystems.
- Experience engaging and presenting to executive-level clients on cloud data platform and cost management topics.
- Familiarity with modern technical sales methodologies and a track record of success in competitive environments, including leading trials, demos, and RFP responses for cloud optimization solutions.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience as a data engineer, architect, or FinOps specialist working with Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery.
