You'll spend 12 weeks working across the full stack, building and shipping production-ready features using TypeScript, React, and Next.js. This is not a shadow role—you'll write real code from day one, design REST APIs, and help modernize backend systems by migrating legacy queries and implementing event-driven workflows with Restate.
What You'll Do
- Develop and test frontend components and backend services that ship to users
- Refactor outdated GraphQL queries into scalable, maintainable patterns
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to turn concepts into functional features
- Integrate with third-party platforms used in construction and home building
- Use AI-powered coding tools like Cursor, Copilot, and Claude Code as part of your daily workflow
What We're Looking For
You have recently completed a degree in Computer Science or have equivalent experience. You're fluent in TypeScript and Node.js, and you've worked with modern React frameworks like Next.js. You can write clean SQL, manage database schemas, and navigate Git workflows confidently.
You adapt quickly to unfamiliar codebases, learn by reading existing patterns, and align with team standards without losing momentum. You communicate clearly in virtual and in-person settings, take initiative without waiting for direction, and aren’t afraid to admit when you’re still figuring something out.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a startup or fast-paced technical environment
- Working knowledge of AWS, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with component-driven UI development or libraries like Radix and Fabric.js
- Exposure to GraphQL, event-driven architectures, or workflow orchestration tools
- Interest or experience in construction, real estate, or home remodeling technology
Work Environment & Benefits
This is a hybrid role based in Vancouver, WA, combining in-person collaboration with remote flexibility via video conferencing. You’ll receive all necessary equipment, including a company laptop, and work within a team culture that values speed, ownership, and long-term thinking.
You’ll gain early exposure to AI/ML infrastructure and participate in building technology from the ground up. Strong performance may lead to future employment opportunities, depending on business needs.
Compensation
Hourly pay ranges from $20 to $25. No equity is offered at this time. The position does not include visa sponsorship—we require candidates to be authorized to work in the U.S.
Our Culture
We value curiosity, collaboration, and resilience in uncertain situations. Our team holds a high bar for quality, moves quickly, and believes diverse perspectives lead to better outcomes. Everyone is expected to take ownership of their work and contribute to an inclusive environment where all voices are heard and respected.
