Udemy is looking for a Product Design Intern to join the Design Foundations team. You'll work alongside designers, engineers, and product managers to design and improve experiences across our learning platform, gaining experience across the full design process.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, and product managers to explore and solve product and platform design problems.
- Contribute to design explorations, prototypes, and UI or content patterns used across Udemy products.
- Support the evolution of our design system and foundations, including components, patterns, and documentation.
- Experiment with AI-enabled design workflows, exploring how tools can accelerate prototyping, design exploration, and content generation.
- Participate in design critiques and reviews, incorporating feedback from teammates and stakeholders.
- Help validate design ideas through lightweight research, usability feedback, or internal testing.
- Document and communicate design decisions to support adoption across product teams.
What We're Looking For
- Problem solving – approach problems thoughtfully and can explore multiple possible solutions.
- Design craft – ability to create clear, thoughtful user experiences that address real user needs.
- Visual or interaction design – experience designing in tools such as Figma to create high-quality interface and interaction designs.
- Communication – ability to explain design decisions and collaborate effectively with engineers, product managers, and designers.
- Presentation – comfortable sharing work and discussing ideas with peers and stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- AI-enabled design workflows – interest in using AI tools in the design process, such as prototyping, content generation, or workflow automation.
- Content design – interest or background in content design, UX writing, or structured content.
