Responsibilities
- Design and implement networking systems with minimal latency to link embedded hardware and cloud platforms, including protocol development and optimization for reliability and throughput
- Develop streamlined data pipelines for collecting and transmitting multimodal sensor outputs, managing packet formation, data buffering, and backpressure in resource-limited settings
- Lead the development of command and control systems requiring predictable timing and resilience, ensuring continued operation during partial failures
- Combine inputs from cameras, inertial measurement units, and other sensors by managing driver integration, time synchronization, and calibration for accurate downstream processing
- Create and refine video and image workflows from initial capture through hardware-assisted encoding, streaming, and persistent storage
- Support the development of tracking and state estimation logic by transforming raw sensor inputs into structured system inputs in coordination with machine learning and perception groups
- Develop and sustain continuous integration systems, automated testing frameworks, and diagnostic tools, including simulation and data replay environments to ensure field reliability
- Monitor, analyze, and evaluate system performance metrics such as processor and GPU load, memory usage, and network behavior to guide targeted optimizations
