Whatnot is hiring a Software Engineer, Logistics Platform

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance foundational systems, APIs, and internal platforms that serve as critical dependencies for logistics processes and business decisions.
  • Lead backend development focused on data integrity, shipment status consistency, system observability, and tools for operational issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Data Science, Customer Experience, Operations, Trust, and Finance to transform complex logistics challenges into robust technical solutions.
  • Enhance the accuracy, timeliness, and accessibility of logistics data used across support, trust, product, and operational workflows.
  • Create monitoring, diagnostic, and debugging tools that enable faster detection and resolution of system issues.
  • Apply AI tools responsibly in engineering tasks to accelerate development and troubleshooting, while maintaining rigorous standards for correctness and risk assessment.
