About the Role
You will join the Service Monetization Team as a Software Engineer, shaping the evolution of the monetization infrastructure. You will design and refine backend systems for subscriptions and payments, collaborate across teams to solve technical challenges, improve system efficiency, and help grow the platform’s audience. You will report to the Engineering Manager within the Service Monetization group.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve the subscription and payments infrastructure that supports user membership and revenue processing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, product, quality assurance, and data to address intricate technical problems
- Enhance system performance and refine user-facing interactions for better usability
- Play a direct role in expanding the platform's user community through scalable and reliable service development
About the role
As a Software Engineer on the Service Monetization Team, you will help shape the future of our Service Monetization Platform. You will architect, build and optimize our subscriptions and payments platform that enables membership and powers revenue collection for Crunchyroll. Working with design, product, quality and data teams, you will solve complex challenges, optimize performance, and enhance user experience, directly contributing to the growth of the Crunchyroll fanbase. In the role of Software Engineer, you will report to the Engineering Manager in the Service Monetization organization.

About the Team
The Service Monetization organization is responsible for building, maintaining, and securing systems that enable membership and collect payments information for Crunchyroll users. We are directly tied to many streams of revenue and pride ourselves on quality code, service reliability, and teamwork. Our day to day work includes integrations with payment providers, payments fraud detection and prevention, optimizations to reduce passive churn while maintaining PCI compliance. Our services process millions of payments in a highly secure, distributed, and scalable environment that is constantly evolving to meet the needs of both our fans and growing business!
