Acai Travel is hiring a Software Engineer to join the founding members of our new India engineering team. In this foundational role, you will build scalable backend systems for our AI automation platform using Go. You'll gain hands-on experience in product thinking and direct customer collaboration while shipping features that create real value.

What You'll Do

Implement scalable Go services (gRPC, MongoDB) with guidance from senior engineers.
Work across AI workflows, automation logic, and customer integrations.
Learn to make architecture decisions based on customer needs.
Collaborate with customers and the product team to understand requirements.
Suggest improvements to technical implementations.
Ship with fast iteration cycles and validate real-world impact.
Bring questions and observations about edge cases and user experience.
Learn to balance pragmatism with quality using a 'minimum lovable product' mindset.
Work directly with customers to understand their problems.

What We're Looking For

2-4 years of backend engineering experience.
Proficiency in Go, or a willingness to learn quickly with a strong background in languages like TypeScript, Python, Java, Rust, or C++.
Exposure to gRPC, MongoDB, or similar technologies.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and basic DevOps practices.
Curiosity about using AI and automation to solve real business problems.
Strong English communication skills for international collaboration.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field from a reputed institution.
Interest in understanding business models, user behaviour, and success metrics.
Willingness to ask 'why' and challenge your own assumptions.
Experience or desire to work closely with product managers, designers, and customer teams.
Comfortable with ambiguity and learning new domains quickly.
Self-motivated with a growth mindset.

Nice to Have

A degree from IITs, NITs, BITS, or other top tier-1 institutions.

Team & Environment

You will be a founding member of the India engineering team, collaborating with Product, Customer Success, Sales, and engineering teams in Barcelona, New York, and Pune. You will report to the CTO or a Lead Engineer.
