Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of frontend features from concept to deployment, with autonomy over implementation.
- Work primarily with React/TypeScript on the frontend and occasionally contribute to the Python/Django backend.
- Help shape how the team uses AI-assisted development tools, identifying where they accelerate work and where they are not beneficial.
- Handle mapping and geospatial data as part of the web-GIS platform.
- Prioritize code quality and architecture when necessary, while knowing when to accept a 'good enough' solution.
- Take active responsibility for broader company needs, such as mentoring teammates, advocating for security standards, or improving operational processes.
- Proactively identify gaps in team culture, security, or processes and address them without waiting for a formal request.
- Collaborate closely with other developers and the wider team to build useful, reliable products supporting the energy transition.
Requirements
- Proactively identify and fix problems without being prompted.
- Solid experience in frontend development.
- Excellent command of German or English, with the ability to explain ideas and decisions clearly and concisely.
- Strong general engineering skills; frameworks can be learned on the job, but fundamentals and judgment are essential.
- Clear, specific opinions about AI-assisted development, including where it speeds up work and where it is not trusted.
- Comfortable making independent technical decisions and taking responsibility for outcomes.
- Genuine interest in the energy and climate space, not just the technology stack.
