Emerson is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Test & Measurement Business Unit. In this role, you will design and develop embedded and driver software products, collaborating with architects, product managers, and fellow engineers within an agile/scrum framework.
What You'll Do
- Deliver product features through research, design, development, and documentation.
- Collaborate on design discussions and code architecture with team members and project leaders.
- Specify, design, and implement new product features.
- Troubleshoot product defects and work with the team to resolve them.
- Develop tests to ensure high code quality and prevent future regressions.
- Peer review code changes submitted by other team members.
- Participate in team activities including standups, backlog reviews, retrospectives, and brainstorming sessions.
- Explore and apply new technologies to continually improve infrastructure and processes.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming and C++.
- Understanding of software design and computer architecture principles, including operating system components, embedded systems, kernel or low-level hardware/software integration, and data structures.
- Experience with Agile methodology.
- Experience with testing frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve effectively, take initiative, work independently, drive tasks to completion, and take ownership of goals and schedules.
- Strong work ethic and drive to succeed.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
Nice to Have
- Ability to work productively in a team development environment.
- Innovative, out-of-the-box thinking.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with Azure DevOps.
- Experience programming in LabVIEW.
- Familiarity with NI products.
