Red Hat's Secure Flow Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer skilled in Golang/Java and Kubernetes to join the Portfolio and Delivery Engineering team. You will develop, optimize, and maintain build-focused CI/CD solutions on the OpenShift Container Platform, creating robust systems for containerized builds and contributing to Red Hat’s cloud-native CI/CD workflows.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain core OpenShift Build features, focusing on reliability, scalability, and performance for cloud native CI/CD.
- Build and optimize components of the build pipeline, including integration with Kubernetes, Tekton, and related CI/CD tools.
- Drive technical direction and architecture discussions, ensuring the product aligns with OpenShift’s broader strategy.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, security, documentation, and other engineering teams to deliver robust and secure build solutions.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues affecting the Builds for Red Hat OpenShift product.
- Contribute to upstream open source communities such as Shipwright, representing Red Hat’s vision and maintaining compatibility with the broader cloud native ecosystem.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally in cloud-native or distributed systems.
- Proficiency in Golang (Go), with experience in developing scalable, high-performance applications.
- Understanding of Docker/containers, CI/CD principles, and container orchestrators like Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with OpenShift or other Kubernetes-based platforms.
- Experience working with build systems or CI/CD tools like Tekton, Jenkins, or GitOps workflows.
- Knowledge of cloud-native architecture, microservices, and best practices in DevOps.
- Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative and open-source mindset.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and make an impact.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Practical knowledge of git and related source control management systems (ex: GitHub, GitLab).
Nice to Have
- Experience contributing to open source projects and familiarity with open source software development processes.
- Understanding of fundamental AI/ML concepts, algorithms, techniques and implementation of workflows.
- Familiarity with DevOps/MLOps practices and tools for managing the AI/ML lifecycle in production environments.
- Understanding of LLM training processes and data requirements. Experience in LLM fine-tuning, RAG and prompt engineering.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs (e.g., OpenAI GPT, Llama, or other transformer models) and their integration into applications(e.g. LangChain or Llama Stack).
