Atomic Semi is hiring a Software Engineer, Fullstack

About the Role

We are seeking a Fullstack Software Engineer with strong design sensibilities to develop a core web application that serves as the operational hub for chip manufacturing. You will create user-facing features that enable process engineers to interact with hardware, manage workflows, and analyze experimental data in real time. Your work will bridge internal control systems with external design interfaces, offering a comprehensive view of both software and physical operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy key features for the primary web application, directly influencing daily manufacturing operations.
  • Create responsive and intuitive user interfaces that enable real-time monitoring and control of physical systems by engineering teams.
  • Build specialized internal tools to simplify process design, automate workflows, and manage complex experimental setups.
  • Lead major features from concept to completion across frontend and backend systems, ensuring cohesive architecture and user experience.
  • Collaborate closely with internal users—process and hardware engineers—to rapidly iterate and refine software based on direct feedback.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Generous paid time off including holidays and sick leave
  • Visa sponsorship available for qualified candidates
  • Life and disability insurance plans
  • Paid parental leave policy
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan
  • Weekly learning and professional development sessions
  • Commuter benefits including parking and late-night ride reimbursements
  • Daily lunches, dinners three times a week, and a fully stocked kitchen with snacks and beverages

Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $125,000 – $195,000, with additional generous equity included in the total compensation package.

Work Arrangement

On-site — lab/office

Team

The Fab Software team develops the central web application that orchestrates the entire semiconductor fabrication process. Our users are internal engineers who rely on our tools to manage hardware, monitor systems, design processes, and analyze data. We are building a fully programmable, observable, and software-driven manufacturing environment powered by AI and ML integration.

About Atomic Semi

About company
Atomic Semi

Atomic Semi is building a small, fast semiconductor fab. We’ll build the tools ourselves then quickly push them to more advanced geometries. We’re building a small team of exceptional, hands-on engineers to make this happen.

We believe our team and fab can build anything. We’ve set up 3D printers, a wide array of microscopes, e-beam writers, and general fabrication equipment.

Atomic was founded by Sam Zeloof and Jim Keller. Sam is best known for making chips in his garage, and Jim has been a leader in the semiconductor industry for the past 40 years.
