About the Role

Synthesia is hiring a Software Engineer, Front End Leaning (Accessibility). You will own the accessibility roadmap and deliverables for our AI video platform. This involves shipping technical fixes, leading cross-team remediation, and designing AI-assisted tooling to scale our accessibility work.

What You'll Do

  • Own the accessibility roadmap and deliverables, including baseline audit, prioritised remediation, design system coverage, CI automation, and production monitoring.
  • Ship technical fixes and lead cross-team remediation efforts.
  • Partner with Design System, Product, Design, Legal, and an external audit provider to embed accessibility into workflows.
  • Educate specific team members to drive accessibility standards within their organizations.
  • Run user testing with assistive technology and integrate findings into product decisions.
  • Design and operate AI-assisted tooling to scale audits and remediation, with human-in-the-loop guardrails.
  • Consider the long-term direction of the team and develop engineering capabilities for future challenges.

What We're Looking For

  • At least seven (7) years of experience as a software engineer, with a minimum of 3 years at the senior or lead level.
  • A proven track record of driving accessibility for a large web application with measurable results.
  • Deep frontend expertise in React and TypeScript, along with Storybook, axe-core/pa11y, and Playwright/Cypress.
  • Strong knowledge of WCAG requirements.
  • Proven ability to influence and communicate effectively across organizations.
  • Experience integrating accessibility into Continuous Integration flows and a Design System.
  • Experience applying LLM/AI tools to accessibility audits and remediation.
  • Prior experience building accessibility teams or programs.

Nice to Have

  • Design skills, such as experience with Figma.
  • Experience with media and video accessibility, including captions, audio descriptions, and player controls.

  • Compensation: EUR/GBP/CHF 120,000 base salary plus equity via a stock option plan.
  • 25 days of annual leave plus local holidays.

Work Mode

This is a remote position open to candidates based in an EU country, the UK, or Switzerland.
