Responsibilities
- Implement data governance frameworks to enhance ownership, access control, and accountability.
- Manage role-based access controls in Snowflake, including access provisioning and permission reviews.
- Enforce least-privilege principles when configuring data access permissions.
- Collaborate with Data, Security, and Legal teams to define and maintain data usage, access, and retention policies.
- Design and optimize data models and transformations in Snowflake using DBT for analytics readiness.
- Ensure data is structured, clean, and reliable through transformation pipelines.
- Create tools and abstractions that simplify data production and consumption for internal teams.
- Keep data documentation up to date, including definitions, ownership, and governance standards.
- Track and improve data lineage and metadata to increase visibility across systems.
- Support audit processes by maintaining logs and contributing to access reviews.
- Monitor how data is accessed and used, identifying anomalies or policy shortcomings.
- Work with Engineering and Analytics teams to integrate governance into data workflows.
- Identify and address gaps in data definitions, ownership, and validation procedures.
- Encourage responsible data practices through collaboration and clear documentation.
Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $193.5K – $215K, plus target equity and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401k. Equity is included at target levels.
