What You'll Do
- Engage in the full software lifecycle—from shaping user stories to design, coding, automated testing, and ongoing system support
- Develop robust full-stack applications using Python, JavaScript, and React, deployed on AWS infrastructure
- Conduct and participate in code reviews to uphold high standards of quality and maintainability
- Collaborate with engineers to refine technical approaches and implement best practices
- Clearly communicate technical details and progress to development peers
- Take ownership of mid-sized feature development with guidance from senior team members
What We Need
- Active NOAA CAC credential
- Minimum of five years of professional software engineering experience
- Proven background in full-stack development with Python, JavaScript, or comparable languages
- Hands-on experience with React and Amazon Web Services (S3, IAM, Lambda)
- Strong debugging skills and experience maintaining large codebases
- Familiarity with Scrum and agile development workflows
- Commitment to automated testing, continuous integration, and code quality
- Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a remote, collaborative setting
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field—equivalent experience considered
What Sets You Apart
- Experience with Node.js or Clojure
- Work history in Agile environments, especially Scrum or SAFe
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, or Bamboo
- Development experience on macOS
- AWS certification
