About the Role

Disney is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Developer Productivity team within Disney Entertainment & ESPN Product & Technology. In this role, you'll build developer-facing tools and batteries-included frameworks that empower engineers across Disney Streaming, packaging services to make them intuitive and accessible.

What You'll Do

  • Develop tools and frameworks that empower other engineers across the organization
  • Partner with the UX design team to transform mock-ups into components, pages, and applications
  • Join forces with other DPE teams to provide a more user-friendly experience for their services and data
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to scope features, identify technical implementation, and ensure we're building the right tools effectively

What We're Looking For

  • Proficiency in Web technologies, including Javascript/TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS
  • Strong passion for building stable, well-tested applications and packages in a collaborative environment
  • 3 years developing large, well-tested applications
  • Excellent debugging skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Enthusiasm for new technologies, languages, frameworks, and platforms
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience with GraphQL
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Spinnaker, and/or Terraform
  • Experience with other popular languages (Node, Go, Java, Scala, Python)
  • Experience with internal tools

  • Compensation: $123,000 - $165,000 for New York City and Seattle, WA
