Responsibilities
- Own, build, maintain, and scale streaming services and their support tools.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and embed stability into all work, continuously seeking automation opportunities for built-in reliability.
- Contribute to architectural definitions with a high degree of innovation and creativity.
- Own and improve team processes.
- Develop automation and tooling to enhance service scalability and reliability.
- Use available innovation time to bring creative ideas to life.
Requirements
- Experience developing back-end services using Flink, Kafka, or other streaming platforms; large-scale experience is a plus.
- Experience writing software in Java, with willingness to adapt, learn, and work with different languages and frameworks.
- Experience with distributed systems, concurrency, and scaling in a production environment.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering production code at a regular cadence using Agile techniques, tools, and methodologies.
- Collaborative work style that includes colleagues in important decisions and leads to shared code ownership.
- Proficiency in English.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Apache Flink.
- Experience developing software in production Kubernetes environments at scale.
- Experience using New Relic or similar solutions for service and infrastructure observability.
- Excitement, not intimidation, by high-throughput data systems.
