Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites using modern automation frameworks across UI, API, and integration layers.
- Actively participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to improve overall quality.
- Collaborate with engineers and business stakeholders to understand new features and translate requirements into comprehensive test plans.
- Perform manual testing as needed to support product verification and user acceptance testing.
- Investigate and debug test failures, production incidents, and flaky tests, communicating findings clearly to the broader team.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to ensure automated tests run reliably on every build.
- Help build and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes) that supports test environments and scales test toolset across the platform.
- Document test strategies, coverage gaps, and known issues in a clear and accessible manner.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with a remote-friendly, distributed team, managing priorities and deliverables independently.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience writing and maintaining automated tests using frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
- Demonstrated proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, TypeScript, or equivalent) with clean, readable coding habits.
- Demonstrated ability to perform and benefit from code reviews, giving actionable feedback and incorporating it constructively.
- Demonstrated debugging skills to isolate root causes across multiple system layers (frontend, backend, infrastructure, data).
- Demonstrated working knowledge of AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, ECS, Lambda) and experience working in or alongside containerized environments.
- Solid familiarity with Kubernetes for deploying, managing, or observing services in test or staging environments.
- Demonstrated experience working in a team environment with excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable asking clarifying questions and surfacing blockers.
Nice to Have
- Background in healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industry software development.
- Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, CircleCI, or similar).
- Exposure to performance, load, or security testing practices.
- Genuine desire to learn, seeking feedback, reading documentation thoroughly, and adapting to new tools and processes quickly.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
