Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services and APIs for secure access service edge (SASE) control plane and gateway coordination
- Develop and support services primarily in Go, with PHP used for API layer components
- Enhance and manage Linux networking capabilities such as namespaces, virtual Ethernet devices, and routing configurations
- Work on netfilter frameworks including iptables and nftables for packet filtering and network address translation
- Expand Linux networking features related to DNS, IPsec, WireGuard, and various tunneling and VPN technologies
- Implement firewalling mechanisms and optimize high-performance data transmission paths
- Support platform evolution by transitioning to minimal Linux operating system images
- Advance containerization efforts and optimize workloads using managed container services like EKS and ECS
- Help drive multi-cloud compatibility and reduce dependency on specific cloud providers
- Enhance system performance, scalability, monitoring capabilities, and overall reliability
- Diagnose and resolve production-level issues involving networking, distributed systems, and performance bottlenecks
- Work closely with DevOps, Security, Quality Assurance, and Product teams to align technical solutions with business goals
- Engage in architectural planning and system design discussions
- Uphold strong engineering practices, including code reviews, testing, and comprehensive documentation
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineering team members
