About the Role
The engineer will contribute to building and operating cloud-based systems that power large-scale mapping and data processing platforms, ensuring high availability and efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud-native services for distributed systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate platform capabilities
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot production issues
- Develop automation tools to streamline deployment and operations
- Improve reliability, scalability, and security of cloud infrastructure
- Work with containerization and orchestration technologies
- Support incident response and on-call operations
- Contribute to technical documentation and system design reviews
- Optimize resource utilization across cloud environments
- Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality standards
- Implement observability solutions for monitoring and alerting
- Engage in capacity planning and system architecture discussions
- Maintain compliance with security and operational policies
- Evaluate new cloud technologies and assess integration potential
- Drive improvements in deployment speed and system uptime
- Collaborate on disaster recovery and backup strategies
- Assist in onboarding new services to the platform
- Contribute to internal developer tooling
- Work closely with product teams to understand requirements
- Support migration of legacy systems to modern architectures
- Promote best practices in cloud engineering across teams
- Participate in agile development cycles
- Ensure infrastructure as code principles are followed
- Help define service level objectives and error budgets
- Contribute to post-incident reviews and remediation plans
