Horizon3.ai is hiring a Software Architect, Security Platform to lead the technical architecture and design of our next-generation autonomous security platform. You will architect cloud-native systems that enable continuous, automated security operations, supporting our mission to make proactive offense-informs-defense capabilities accessible to organizations of all sizes.
What You'll Do
- Lead architectural decisions for security platform modules spanning multiple security domains.
- Design cloud-native, multi-tenant architecture supporting customers from SMB through enterprise.
- Architect integration frameworks that embed seamlessly into existing customer security infrastructure.
- Define technical standards and patterns for production-safe automation in security-critical environments.
- Design scalable data pipelines that process security findings and orchestrate automated responses.
- Architect event-driven systems that coordinate security testing and defensive capabilities.
- Build robust API and integration layers supporting extensive security tool integrations.
- Design fault-tolerant systems with comprehensive audit trails and rollback capabilities.
- Partner with product managers to translate platform vision into technical roadmaps.
- Collaborate with security engineers to design systems that leverage security intelligence.
- Work with domain specialists to architect security-specific capabilities.
- Guide engineering teams on implementation of architectural decisions.
- Mentor engineering teams on cloud-native design patterns and security automation best practices.
- Establish engineering standards for security, scalability, and reliability.
- Lead technical reviews and architecture decision records (ADRs).
- Drive technical strategy discussions with leadership team.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- 4+ years in senior architecture roles.
- Expert-level AWS knowledge: Deep experience architecting applications in AWS environments.
- Proven experience designing microservices, event-driven architectures, and serverless applications at scale.
- Strong background in RESTful APIs, webhooks, and complex third-party integrations.
- Experience with real-time data processing, streaming architectures, and data pipeline design.
- Track record of leading technical architecture for enterprise software products.
- Experience scaling systems from startup to enterprise-grade requirements.
- Strong background in designing secure, compliant systems handling sensitive data.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD practices.
- Understanding of cybersecurity markets and enterprise software requirements.
- Experience building products that integrate with existing enterprise toolchains.
- Ability to balance technical excellence with business requirements and delivery timelines.

- Previous experience in cybersecurity, security tooling, or compliance software.
- Understanding of enterprise security operations and incident response.
