Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting and scheduling daily social media posts across platforms, ensuring content aligns with Complex’s unique tone and voice.
- Support the team in sourcing, curating, and sharing trending news and culturally relevant moments across the verticals we cover.
- Monitor and engage with the Complex audience through comments, direct messages, and replies, helping maintain an active and positive community.
- Research emerging social media trends, viral moments, and platform updates to share with the broader team.
- Assist in brainstorming ideas for platform-specific content, memes, and real-time posts.
- Help track social media performance and analytics, reporting key takeaways and insights to the team.
- Collaborate with editorial and video teams to support the promotion of articles, videos, and other content.
- Assist in covering major cultural events, such as sneaker drops, album releases, or trending sports moments, through live posts or content support.
Requirements
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook) and a strong understanding of what performs well on each platform.
- Excellent written communication skills with a passion for engaging audiences in a conversational tone.
- Ability to identify trending stories, viral moments, and emerging content opportunities.
- Creative mindset with a good sense of humor and an eye for visually appealing content.
- Must be enrolled in a university or academic program that allows you to receive credit for this internship.
Nice to Have
- Basic understanding of social media analytics and performance metrics is a plus.
- Prior experience with social media management tools or content creation is a bonus but not required.
