Responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the existing WebLogic Server environment and related infrastructure.
- Evaluate the current platform architecture, operational workflows, and production preparedness.
- Inspect the physical deployment environment, including hardware, storage, networking, and software components.
- Analyze Oracle product installations, configurations, and deployment strategies, with emphasis on clustering, failover, and high availability setups.
- Examine operational procedures such as system monitoring, maintenance routines, and backup protocols.
- Assess application usage patterns including user load, response performance, and concurrent session volumes.
- Review application architecture and deployment methodologies specific to WebLogic Server.
- Evaluate deployment scripts, automation practices, and release procedures.
- Analyze WebLogic Server installation and configuration across applications and environments.
- Investigate application-specific metrics such as message throughput, message size, data read/write activity, and logging practices.
- Assess application design elements, including use of packaged versus custom solutions, Java EE components, web services, GUI applications, and third-party integrations.
- Document findings and provide recommendations for future-state improvements and alignment with industry standards.
- Advise key stakeholders on optimal use of standard WebLogic Server features and Oracle capabilities to support business goals.
- Deliver an engagement report summarizing findings, impacts, and short- and long-term recommendations, along with stakeholder briefings to define next steps.
