Responsibilities
- Design and oversee cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP, ensuring high availability, cost efficiency, scalability, and compliance with security standards.
- Lead the creation and management of scalable Kubernetes environments using configuration tools like Kustomize for consistent, automated deployments.
- Deploy and manage service mesh solutions such as Istio or Linkerd to secure inter-service communication and enforce container security practices like image scanning and runtime protection.
- Build and maintain secure, efficient CI/CD pipelines using Git and Jenkins to accelerate releases and integrate automated testing and security checks.
- Apply software engineering principles to infrastructure by writing, reviewing, and maintaining Terraform modules for reliable cloud resource provisioning.
- Minimize manual operations by creating Python-based automation tools for backups, scaling, recovery, and routine system maintenance.
- Enhance system observability by managing and scaling monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, CloudWatch, and GCP Operations Suite.
- Lead reliability efforts for a growing SaaS platform through proactive capacity planning and infrastructure forecasting.
- Manage end-to-end incident response, including conducting blameless postmortems to derive meaningful improvements.
- Establish and monitor service level indicators, objectives, and agreements to uphold platform reliability commitments.
- Serve as a reliability partner to development teams, guiding early-stage design decisions for deployability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and architectural risks, contributing to system improvements, internal tooling, and documentation to boost team effectiveness.
