University of Toronto is hiring a Sessional Lecturer

About the Role

The University of Toronto seeks a Sessional Lecturer to design and deliver an advanced seminar on anti-colonization and the politics of violence. This is a May 1 to June 30, 2026 teaching appointment for the university credit course CSE444H1.

What You'll Do

  • Design and teach the university credit course CSE444H1 – Anti-Colonization and the Politics of Violence.
  • Prepare and deliver all course content in-person.
  • Develop, administer, and mark assignments, tests, and exams.
  • Calculate and submit final grades for the course.
  • Hold regular office hours for student consultation.

What We're Looking For

  • A completed or nearly completed Ph.D. (or equivalent).
  • A scholarly and praxis-grounded background in the Fanonian politics of anti-colonization.

Nice to Have

  • Prior teaching experience at the university level.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation is based on the Sessional Lecturer scale: Sessional Lecturer I: $9,820.70, Sessional Lecturer I (Long-term): $10,510.04, Sessional Lecturer II: $10,510.04, Sessional Lecturer II (Long-term): $10,760.28, Sessional Lecturer III: $10,760.28, Sessional Lecturer III (Long-term): $11,030.36.

Work Mode

This is an onsite position located at the St. George (Downtown Toronto) campus.
