MLabs seeks a Senior or Lead Android Engineer to build secure, high-performance Android applications for a large-scale financial technology program for a UAE-based enterprise client. You will be instrumental in developing robust mobile solutions within a remote-first, globally distributed engineering environment.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Android applications using Kotlin
- Implement clean, testable, and maintainable mobile architecture
- Integrate applications with secure backend APIs and enterprise services
- Optimize application performance, responsiveness, and reliability
- Collaborate with backend, blockchain, and product teams
- Participate in code reviews and enforce engineering standards
- Provide technical leadership, mentor developers, and contribute to architectural strategy (Lead Engineers)
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years (Senior) / 8+ years (Lead) Android development experience
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin
- Experience with modern Android development (Jetpack, Compose preferred)
- Strong understanding of MVVM or Clean Architecture
- Experience integrating REST APIs
- Experience with performance optimization and debugging
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
Nice to Have
- Experience in fintech, banking, or regulated environments
- Experience with secure authentication and encrypted data handling
- Experience working in distributed remote teams
- Exposure to blockchain-integrated mobile applications
