Responsibilities
- Create and execute highly polished visual design and concepts that are consistently on brand and directly connect to solving the client's business needs. This includes typography, composition, interface, logos, branding, components, etc. for various platforms, viewports, and otherwise.
- Craft and present high fidelity design concepts and directions as a necessary part of the design process. This includes actively participating in brainstorms, contributing ideas and inspiration, and solutions of one’s own articulated through references, sketches storyboards, mood boards and conceptual designs.
- Keep one’s own high standard of design, presentation, processes, and all the ways we work with each other and engage with our clients.
- Stay current and champion new AI practices, recent design methodologies, trends and techniques. Proactively search for and recommend new best practices.
- Bring to life design through working prototypes and motion, including the ability to think about motion in interaction, create prototypes in Figma, and/or other AI tools.
- Create design systems, style guides, brand guides, other artifacts to describe and visualize the intended user experience, as well as prepare assets for development.
- Collaborate with the team, including UX designers, strategists, copywriter, creative directors, developers and other visual designers.
- Build and sustain effective working relationships internally and externally, and especially within the design group.
- Mentor other more junior designers and play a role in helping build a dynamic design culture.
Requirements
- 5+ years proven agency or studio experience across a variety of industries, designing for digital experiences.
- Excellence in designing brand and/or systematic design experiences across multiple channels. Someone who has never tired of pushing the work to be better.
- Fluency in English, and able to verbally communicate and present to North American team members and clients.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, knowing how to get the point across with passion and enthusiasm and can gracefully defend great work. Can communicate complex ideas or conversations in a way that is easily understood by the team and the client, with little to no guidance.
- A strategic thinker, ability to take in the strategic ambition of the project, as well as inputs from UX and narrative, to arrive at a compelling and rounded design solution.
- A collaborative spirit and team player, who can take direction well, be additive to a group process, and help others strengthen their work. Expertly guided more junior designers on design principles and best practices.
- The ability to thrive under pressure, and work under tight deadlines, juggling multiple projects and deliver to dozens of stakeholders, without sacrificing quality.
- Strong ability to prioritize, focus their time and energy on the right things throughout the design process. Someone who can roll with it and has a solutions-based mindset
- Skilled in AI tools and current design practices, up to date in Figma and Figma related AI tools, as well as image generators, should be core elements of your toolbox.
