Escape Velocity Entertainment is looking for a Senior UI Artist to define and drive the visual identity of our game interfaces. You will be responsible for translating artistic vision into high-fidelity, player-friendly UI experiences using Unreal Engine 5, collaborating closely with cross-disciplinary teams to ship AAA quality.
What You'll Do
- Drive the vision for UI Art by embracing the defined art style and direction.
- Create UI that aligns with UX wireframes and is thematically perfect, using provided style guides.
- Collaborate with UX Design, Art Directors, and the Game Director to pitch and align on your vision.
- Implement UI Art assets against the established project plan.
- Effectively plan and communicate your work, ensuring goals and dependencies are realistic.
- Deliver high-quality UI assets throughout development, from early prototypes to final engine implementation.
- Be accountable for the quality and consistency of UI Art produced by the team.
- Work collaboratively with UX Design, Tech Design, and Engineers to create AAA quality UI experiences.
- Actively participate in the creation and implementation of design systems, game menus, HUD elements, iconography, UI materials and shaders, and UI animation.
- Work quickly and effectively in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible and adaptable amid ambiguity.
- Contribute to shipping product team features on time and to quality.
- Flag new and emerging design patterns or systems to the Art Directors.
- Collaborate with the greater UXUI Department to ensure consistency and quality are maintained.
What We're Looking For
- Experience implementing AAA quality UI Art in Unreal Engine 5 or comparable game engines.
- A deep understanding of user interface design principles within the gaming industry.
- A passion for creating visually stunning and intuitive UI experiences.
