The University of Texas at Austin is hiring a Senior Technical Support Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for technology support within University Housing and Dining (UHD). You will provide comprehensive computer desktop end-user and audio-visual support, installing, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading hardware and software to ensure optimal performance.
What You'll Do
- Provide timely computer desktop and technology support, various IT services, knowledge, and solutions to UHD end-users.
- Operate and test the functionality of all AV and integrated conference rooms, performing routine testing and problem diagnosis.
- Perform installation, configuration, repair, maintenance, and upgrades on Windows/Mac hardware and related equipment.
- Participate in UHD initiatives, attend meetings, and perform special projects and tasks.
- Assist with IT inventory management.
What We're Looking For
- High School graduation or GED.
- Three years installing and configuring Microsoft products, including Windows Desktop Operating Systems and Microsoft Office.
- Three years of demonstrated experience in IT customer service and/or help desk environment.
- Knowledge of directory services and remote access tools.
- Knowledge of computer and peripheral operations, installation, and troubleshooting.
- A class 'C' operator's driver's license and ability to provide a current three-year driving record.
Nice to Have
- Experience managing a Citrix Virtual Desktop Environment.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
- Experience supporting systems remotely.
- Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and prioritize multiple projects.
