Location: Hyderabad, Telangana Role Overview: The Senior Technical Director at Accordion leads the design and governance of enterprise-scale data platforms that power analytics, AI, and strategic decision-making for clients. This role operates at the intersection of technology leadership and hands-on delivery — setting the architectural vision, governing AI-ready data infrastructure, and remaining technically engaged across complex, high-stakes engagements. The Senior Technical Director will drive an AI-first philosophy across all engagements defining enterprise standards for AI-ready data platforms, overseeing the design and deployment of MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, and ensuring teams responsibly leverage AI tools to maximize delivery velocity and solution quality. A successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading large technical teams, managing senior client relationships, and driving innovation at scale. What You will do: - Partner with multiple clients to understand their business challenges and translate them into data architecture requirements and actionable solution roadmaps. - Own end-to-end accountability for the delivery of data engineering engagements, ensuring projects are executed on time, within scope, and to a high technical standard while proactively managing risks, aligning stakeholders, and maintaining visibility across work streams. - Define and govern enterprise-scale data platform architectures, including data lakes, lakehouses (Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg), and modern data warehouses, ensuring alignment with long-term client needs. - Lead cross-functional engineering teams to drive end-to-end solution delivery across complex, multi-workstream projects, ensuring quality, timelines, and client satisfaction. - Work closely with business and technology teams to define enterprise KPI frameworks, data governance standards, and metrics aligned with organizational goals. - Partner with Project Managers and engagement leads to develop and execute delivery plans across complex, multi-workstream projects. - Define and enforce AI-ready data infrastructure standards — governance, lineage, access patterns, and metadata management to enable downstream AI and agentic consumption. - Oversee and guide the design and deployment of MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers that expose data platform capabilities to AI agents and LLM-powered workflows. - Design and implement Master Data Management (MDM) and data governance frameworks that ensure data quality, consistency, ownership, and compliance across the enterprise. - Champion the responsible use of AI tools across the team, setting standards for AI-accelerated delivery. - Drive architecture reviews, engineering excellence programs, and knowledge-sharing initiatives across the data engineering practice. - Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies, AI tooling, and cloud platform innovations to bring forward-thinking strategies to clients. Ideally, you have: - An undergraduate degree (B.E/B.Tech.) from a tier-1 or tier-2 institution. - 12+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, data architecture, or technology leadership. - Deep SQL expertise and strong command of data modeling across relational and columnar databases. - Hands-on expertise with multiple modern data platforms: Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, or AWS Redshift. - Proven experience designing enterprise data lake and lakehouse architectures using open table formats (Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg) on cloud storage (ADLS, S3, GCS). - Proficiency in cloud-native orchestration tools: Azure Data Factory, Databricks Workflows, dbt, Apache Airflow, or equivalent. - Experience with streaming platforms (Apache Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, AWS Kinesis). - Experience overseeing and guiding the design and deployment of MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers for AI agent integration. - Demonstrated ability to define and enforce AI-ready data infrastructure standards across teams and engagements. - A strong habit of responsibly leveraging AI tools and championing their adoption across engineering teams. - Working knowledge of BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) is a strong plus. - Proven track record of leading large technical teams, managing senior stakeholder relationships, and driving innovation at scale. - An analytical, AI-first, automation-forward mindset with a bias toward building future-proof solutions.
