About the Role
The role involves leading systems engineering efforts for EO/IR sensor systems, from concept through deployment, ensuring alignment with mission requirements and system-level integration goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead systems engineering activities for electro-optical and infrared sensor development
- Define and manage system requirements for sensor performance and integration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on hardware and software integration
- Conduct trade studies to evaluate sensor architectures and technologies
- Support test planning and execution for sensor subsystems
- Analyze field data to improve system performance and reliability
- Ensure compliance with military and safety standards
- Develop documentation for system design, verification, and validation
- Interface with government and defense partners on technical requirements
- Troubleshoot complex system-level issues in lab and field environments
- Guide risk assessments and mitigation strategies for sensor systems
- Contribute to rapid prototyping and iterative development cycles
- Evaluate supplier capabilities and components for sensor integration
- Support system calibration, alignment, and field maintenance procedures
- Maintain focus on real-world operational effectiveness in diverse environments
