Responsibilities
- Design and maintain core infrastructure systems that support a high-performance SaaS platform, prioritizing security, reliability, and developer usability
- Work closely with Product Engineering, SRE, and Security teams to lead infrastructure initiatives from planning to deployment
- Assess current systems and implement architectural enhancements to improve scalability and operational effectiveness
- Develop and manage infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Pulumi, or equivalent
- Apply configuration management solutions such as Ansible, Chef, or similar to standardize and automate environment setups
- Support and enhance containerized environments and orchestration platforms including Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or Nomad
- Advance system observability by improving monitoring, logging, alerting, and code instrumentation practices
- Create and maintain documentation for system architecture, platform standards, and operational procedures, and train developers on their use
- Provide technical mentorship to less experienced engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
- Participate in on-call duties to ensure the stability, availability, and performance of production systems

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure, or platform roles
- Proven experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi
- Strong background in configuration management using Ansible, Chef, or similar tools
- Deep knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems
- Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating across technical teams
- Security-conscious mindset with experience implementing secure infrastructure at scale
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale SaaS environments
- Contributions to open-source infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd
- Experience with performance tuning and capacity planning
- Exposure to multi-region or hybrid cloud deployments
