Job Responsibilities As a Senior - Supervising Mechanical Engineer - CF, Responsible for project management, including the conceptual approach to all trade-specific systems on multiple projects, and ensuring approach implementation through the management of resources. This position is specifically responsible for converting client goals into appropriate system designs and/or solutions considering the environmental effects; project budget; health; safety and welfare of the public; and local systems and methods. Individuals must take ownership of the completeness, accuracy, coordination, profitability, and timeliness of the work under their direction. Develop initiatives to improve and maintain staff skills and technical abilities. This individual shall be capable of being the “Engineer of Record” on projects. Additional responsibilities include: - Establishing design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects. - Supervising the preparation of reports and analysis of system options and building conditions. - Maintaining interdisciplinary coordination with other trades/projects consultants. - Monitoring all correspondence between staff, clients, contractors, owners, etc. - Supervising construction administrative duties such as field reports, responses to RFIs, processing bulletins, addenda, etc. - Providing periodic objective and comprehensive employee evaluations. - Participating in and contributing to the business unit Technical Leadership Committee. - Assisting the Technical Manager and Chief Engineer in business unit technical training and staff mentoring. Job Requirements Successful candidates must have a current PE registration as a Mechanical Engineer with a solid, and stable work track record. The capability to fully design mechanical systems for various building types not only commercial and mixed-use but also mission-critical, life science, and R+D facilities would be a major plus and a good fit for this dynamic role. Additional requirements of the Senior Mechanical Engineer include: - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university - 8+ - 12+ years experience working in a consulting firm - LEED AP accreditation, highly preferred - Candidate should possess a strong ability to coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, and telecom, as well as its constructability and cost - Working knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT experience - PE required Benefits As an employee with Syska Hennessy Group, you will be part of a global firm with an amazing history!
