About the Role
Design and maintain backend systems that integrate advanced AI capabilities into reliable, scalable product experiences, delivering foundational infrastructure for next-generation AI-powered applications with direct customer and business impact.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Product to identify high-impact, customer-driven initiatives and deliver stable features rapidly in a dynamic setting.
- Lead the design and ownership of backend services and APIs that support web applications, automated workflows, and third-party integrations.
- Structure and manage data in Postgres and complementary storage systems to enable fast, consistent user interactions.
- Develop secure, multi-tenant systems with fine-grained permissions and comprehensive audit trails for enterprise and public sector clients.
- Implement backend logic that integrates large language models and autonomous tools, coordinating AI system calls through resilient, well-architected services.
- Partner with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to co-develop solutions, establish clear API specifications, and deliver end-to-end features.
- Integrate detailed logging, monitoring, and distributed tracing to ensure system observability and support efficient incident response.
- Enhance system performance and scalability by identifying bottlenecks, optimizing database queries, and adjusting service boundaries as demand increases.
- Engage in code reviews, technical planning, and an on-call schedule to maintain the reliability of owned services.
