About the Role
The role involves designing and building simulation agents that behave realistically and intelligently to improve the training and validation of autonomous driving systems. The engineer will work at the intersection of machine learning, robotics, and large-scale simulation.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement agent models that simulate realistic human driving behaviors
- Develop machine learning algorithms to train agents in complex traffic scenarios
- Integrate simulation agents into large-scale testing environments
- Collaborate with research teams to improve agent decision-making under uncertainty
- Optimize agent performance for scalability and computational efficiency
- Work closely with robotics and perception teams to align simulation with real-world data
- Conduct experiments to evaluate agent realism and system impact
- Contribute to the architecture of simulation platforms
- Debug and refine agent behaviors based on test outcomes
- Publish findings and contribute to technical direction
- Stay current with advancements in AI, simulation, and autonomous systems
- Mentor junior engineers and support team knowledge sharing
- Ensure simulation agents reflect diverse driving environments and edge cases
- Support safety validation by generating challenging test scenarios
- Use data-driven methods to validate agent fidelity
Nice to Have
- PhD in a relevant field
- Industry experience in autonomous driving or robotics
- Publications in machine learning, AI, or simulation venues
- Experience with real-time simulation systems
- Knowledge of safety-critical system validation
