Red Hat is hiring a Senior Software Quality Engineer - OpenShift

About the Role

Red Hat is looking for a Senior Software Quality Engineer to join the team building the OpenShift Container Platform. You will be responsible for all aspects of quality, from test design to automation, gaining deep technical knowledge of containers, Kubernetes, and OpenShift while working within an inclusive, open-source culture.

What You'll Do

  • Execute manual and automated tests for OpenShift and deliver clear status reports.
  • Conduct failure analysis, identify and document bugs, and advocate for their resolution.
  • Coordinate cross-component teams for bug verification and regression testing.
  • Work with product release teams on delivery-related testing.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks, CI, and scripts using Golang.
  • Employ AI-driven testing frameworks to automate test case generation and enhance coverage.
  • Participate in test and product planning processes.
  • Conduct new feature research and design corresponding test cases.
  • Constantly learn new technologies and maintain a broad technical overview.
  • Work in a fast-paced Agile global environment with talented Quality Engineers.
  • Provide mentoring and leadership to junior Quality Engineers.

What We're Looking For

  • An engineering degree or higher, or equivalent in computer science or a related field.
  • Testing experience working with globally distributed QE teams.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in QE or similar roles.
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies and techniques.
  • Knowledge of the Linux operating system (any distribution).
  • Programming skills in Golang, Python, or another language.
  • Knowledge of Linux containers, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, or Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Motivation and dedication to learning and collaboration.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2, Google Compute Engine (GCE), or Microsoft Azure.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of security testing.
  • Contributions to open source projects or publicly available code samples.
