Experian is hiring a Senior Software & Platform Architect

We are looking for a Senior Software & Platform Architect to help define and guide the evolution of our enterprise-wide Ascend Platform capabilities. This is a software architecture role grounded in strong programming experience: you will design core software components and platform services, and, while not a day-to-day member of a scrum team, you will be able to step into the codebase when needed to support engineering teams through complex technical challenges. You will design and oversee the implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing software and platform solutions that support enterprise-wide applications, with deep expertise in AWS cloud-native architecture. You will bridge business needs with technical strategy, ensuring that software and platform architecture aligns with organizational goals, technology standards, and operational requirements. You will report directly to the VP of Platform Architecture. What you'll do: - Shape the architecture of core platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability. - Evaluate latest technologies and recommend adoption strategies that align with business objectives. - Work with engineering, product, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure cohesive platform development and integration. - Establish architectural standards, best practices, and governance models for platform development and operations. - Monitor platform performance and guide optimization efforts to improve efficiency and reduce costs. - Ensure platform designs meet security, privacy, and compliance requirements. - Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, promoting a culture of architectural excellence. - Guide infrastructure modernization projects, including cloud migration and hybrid environments. - Ensure systems are resilient, secure, and optimized for performance. - Participate incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts. - Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and learning. - Ensure understanding of Enterprise standards set by internal Technology Executive Board, data protection regulations, and internal policies. - Manage risk through proactive monitoring, auditing, and disaster recovery planning.
