IO Global is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to write high-quality code for the Lace light wallet platform. In this role, you will work with cutting-edge research and technology, focusing on TypeScript/React development within the Web3/blockchain space.
What You'll Do
- Follow Agile software development practices.
- Work with teams across multiple time zones.
- Work independently on software development tasks.
- Be proactive and require minimal supervision or mentoring to complete tasks.
- Review specifications produced by architects and formal methods specialists.
- Contribute to the design of algorithms.
- Write clean, straightforward, efficient code that satisfies previously agreed acceptance criteria.
- Commit often and submit small pull requests frequently.
- Cover code with unit, property, and integration tests when applicable.
- Review the pull requests of your teammates.
- Fix bugs in your code and legacy code from others.
- Integrate software components and third-party libraries.
- Verify and deploy programs and systems.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software.
- Write documentation for the code.
- Write technical user manuals.
- Be knowledgeable of the basics of cryptography.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of 5+ years of development experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, Rust, or similar languages.
- Experience working with Git and Git workflow.
- Practical experience with Agile software development methods.
- Knowledge of functional and object-oriented programming paradigms.
- Experience in the Self-Sovereign Identity domain (W3C/DIF/Aries), VC/VP, DIDCommV2.
- Experience with the React/ReactNative framework.
- Ability to write idiomatic code that satisfies the acceptance criteria of a given task.
- Ability to write tests (unit, property) that provide sufficient and non-superfluous code coverage.
- Ability to document code and APIs concisely and unambiguously.
- Ability to break down tasks into sub-tasks completable in a short amount of time.
- Pragmatic adherence to software engineering principles (modularity, incremental development, no premature optimization).
Nice to Have
- A degree in Computer Science is desirable but not essential.
