Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable web applications and services supporting the Records business and client-facing platforms.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product managers, and engineers to understand needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Communicate technical concepts, architectural decisions, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Design, build, and enhance APIs and backend services using C#/.NET and Microsoft Azure.
- Develop responsive, high-quality user experiences using React and modern UI frameworks as appropriate.
- Use AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot to improve efficiency, code quality, and delivery speed.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical planning, offering recommendations and mentoring other engineers when appropriate.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices for reliable, secure, and efficient software delivery.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production applications, implementing scalable, long-term solutions for reliability and performance.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, including AI capabilities, to identify opportunities for improving engineering efficiency and business value.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience developing and supporting production-grade applications.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing applications using C#/.NET.
- Strong professional experience designing, deploying, and supporting cloud-native applications in Microsoft Azure.
- Experience building RESTful APIs and distributed applications.
- Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with modern software architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments.
- Enthusiasm for AI-assisted software development and willingness to leverage modern AI tools in daily engineering work.
Nice to Have
- Experience with React and/or modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Experience with Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Azure Service Bus, Azure Key Vault, and related Azure services.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or other CI/CD platforms.
- Experience with Git, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience integrating applications with AI or machine learning services, including Azure OpenAI or similar platforms.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies.
- Experience in legal technology, healthcare, financial services, or other regulated industries.
