Canva is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Productivity Group. You will be responsible for building and enhancing the company’s Visual Suite products, including Docs, Email, Sheets, Presentations, Whiteboards, and Websites. Your focus will be on driving product cohesion, integrating AI/ML capabilities, and delivering powerful features for users.
What You'll Do
- Build alignment and momentum towards common goals across teams, groups, and time zones.
- Partner with product and design on road mapping, planning, resourcing, and goal setting to execute the product vision.
- Grow the team vertically and horizontally by investing in current members and recruiting new talent.
- Coach emerging leaders to further develop leadership capabilities within the team.
- Create a collaborative and open environment where everyone can do their best work.
- Maintain situational awareness across multiple complex workstreams and keep the broader company informed.
- Connect current work to the long-term product vision.
- Ruthlessly prioritize to focus on critical problems and minimize distractions.
- Design, develop, and deploy solutions through hands-on software development, collaborating closely with leads, designers, and product managers.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and advocate effectively for engineering needs.
- Model initiative and ownership in achieving goals and improving processes.
- Identify opportunities for cross-team collaboration to drive new insights and improvements.
Team & Environment
The Productivity Group encompasses product vertical teams that make up the Visual Suite. Teams are largely Frontend specific, with some Backend and Machine Learning Engineer resources consolidated into a platform team.
