Checkr is hiring a Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer at Checkr, you will work on high impact engineering projects that help build a fairer future for all. Checkr is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the Growth group, working primarily on customer signup flows and fraud management. Our team’s focus is to ensure that customers who sign up for Checkr have a seamless and intuitive experience, while ensuring that bad actors are removed as threats to our platform. You will work in a collection of small services built on Ruby and Javascript, utilizing relational databases, as well as event streams for asynchronous tasks. Checkr was founded by engineers for engineers; we want to create the best environment for developers to build, learn and love their work. Responsibilities: - Own the product development of full-stack features from design, implementation, to release - Partner with product, design and other non-technical stakeholders in designing new features - Collaborate with other engineers within the team and across the Growth organization in architecting and implementing new features - Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve our products - Deliver performant, reliable, scalable, and secure code - Monitor, investigate, triage, and resolve production issues as they arise for services owned by the team What you bring: - 4+ years of full-stack software development experience - Strong React skills and knowledge of front end best practices - Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as relational databases, data structure and algorithms, Object Relational Mapping, REST APIs, microservices, etc. - A strong sense of ownership across all aspects of the development lifecycle - Desire to mentor, uplevel, and collaborate with teammates - An eagerness to learn, improve, and innovate - Advanced English communication skills - written and verbal - AI-First Mindset: Embrace an engineering culture where AI tooling isn't a perk—it's standard practice.
