Visual Ventures is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our Exploration team. Starting with an investment account for minors (UGMA), we’re creating new products to help parents secure their children's futures. You'll work with us to remake a $650 billion industry and improve the lives of millions of families.

What You'll Do

Develop full-stack features in TypeScript and React, running services in both NestJS and a serverless AWS environment.
Participate in the design and implementation of features to expand our UGMA offering, working in two-week sprints.
Collaborate with other engineers to provide technical leadership to a growing startup.
Help your fellow engineers grow in new and exciting ways.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of software development experience in a product-centric environment.
3+ years of experience in a JavaScript or TypeScript environment.
Experience building backend APIs and responsive front-ends.
Effective communication skills for technical problem-solving and collaborating with engineers, product managers, and designers.
Compassion for our customers and your fellow teammates.
A willingness to make mistakes.
Enthusiasm for engineering and technology.

Nice to Have

Experience planning and executing data migrations.
Experience building and managing distributed systems in AWS. We use CloudFront (via CDK 2) to manage Lambdas, Cognito, DynamoDB, Athena, S3, SQS, and SNS.
Knowledge of financial and investment products.
