About the Role
You will be responsible for developing a scalable, low-latency trading platform that meets institutional-grade performance standards. Working in a small, multidisciplinary team, you'll contribute across the stack, from hardware-level optimization to distributed system architecture, while making key decisions that directly impact customer experience and platform reliability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance the algorithmic trading platform to meet high performance and quality expectations of brokerage users.
- Lead platform design and architecture initiatives while adapting to multiple roles within a small engineering team.
- Produce extensive code and make pivotal decisions to ensure optimal customer experience and system reliability.
Requirements
- Proven track record as a software engineer with leadership experience preferred.
- Proficiency in both low-level and high-level programming languages including C/C++, Go, Zig, Rust, Java, Scala, and Python.
- Demonstrated expertise in optimizing for low latency and high throughput.
- Hands-on experience with messaging queues and message brokers.
- Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving abilities.
- Solid understanding of algorithms, distributed systems, scalability, high availability, databases, concurrency control, and low-latency systems.
- Skilled in system design, including object-oriented modeling, service-oriented architectures, and system abstraction.
- Direct experience building and deploying Order Management Systems (OMS) and Risk Management Systems (RMS).
Nice to Have
- Background in algorithmic trading, either professionally or through personal projects.
- Familiarity with the FIX protocol.
- Experience implementing observability tools, distributed tracing, continuous profiling, and benchmarking frameworks.
- Knowledge of financial markets, including exchanges, broker-dealers, and clearing processes.
- Experience working with financial ledger systems.
- Skills in statistical and quantitative analysis.
- Cloud platform experience, particularly with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Proficiency with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
